Connect Your Allen-Bradley PLCs To Your Building Automation System
Many building systems use Programmable Controllers to implement building control logic. Until now, it has been difficult and expensive to exchange data between Allen-Bradley PLCs and BACnet MS/TP enabled Building Automation Systems (BAS). For some Allen-Bradley PLCs there were no devices that would connect it to a BAS.

That’s Where the 460ETCBMS Comes in
The 460ETCBMS changes all that and gives you an amazing tool to quickly and easily integrate your BACnet MS/TP enabled BAS with any Allen-Bradley PLC. Even the legacy PLC5Es and SLC 5/05s. With this small, din rail module you can now use BACnet MS/TP BAS to access the registers or tags in your Allen-Bradley PLC.

How Does the Data Move In and Out of the PLC?
You allocate two areas of tags or register blocks in your Allen-Bradley PLC. One area is a user defined set of write only tags or register blocks accepting data from BACnet MS/TP. The other area is full of read only tags or register blocks to send data to your BACnet MS/TP system. You directly map BACnet MS/TP Analog and Binary data into read and write locations in the data table of your Allen-Bradley PLC. There is no message instruction or IO tree to deal with.

It’s really that simple. Need to modify your data as it passes from one protocol to the other? No problem. Each data mapping you apply can be modified with up to 3 mathematic functions. Add 4 to a value, multiply by 4 and divide by 10 with ease. Email Alarming is available as well.

Why Use Real Time Automation as a Gateway Supplier?
The 460ETCBMS provides an option to access a BACnet MS/TP system with an Allen-Bradley PLC without an expensive in-rack solution. While there are certainly a number of other companies offering stand alone gateways, there is no one who provides the level of support and service that you receive from RTA.

When you call, a live person answers the phone. When you talk with sales, you will get honest answers and recommendations even if that means recommending someone else’s solution. When you get support, it is from an engineer who had a hand in the product’s development, and support doesn’t require a ticket or 24 hour wait. We are unashamed of the fact that we are a smaller company because that means you mean a lot more to us.

What our Customers are Saying

“I challenged a customer to get it working by the time I got back from his break room with a Coke and he indeed had it working when I got back. He then said, "It’s worth twice the price!"”

Eric P. / Kendall Electric

“Everything seems to be working as we imagined. Thanks for the great response time. I did not see any way to save the configuration other than screen shots, but the configuration did not get lost in the update. Thanks again, and you were a pleasure to work with.”

Kevin L. / Extol, Inc.
