Physical Network

You must make some physical considerations:

Switches or software?
Devices can be configured with switches and other physical devices or with software, depending on the needs of your company.
Termination
Both ends of a DeviceNet trunkline must be terminated with resistors.
Isolation
Any connection with an external power supply must be isolated.

These considerations are important, but not as applicable as the higher-level network considerations.
