PLC 5E to Profinet IO Controller
The Easiest Way to Connect an Allen Bradley PLC 5E to a Profinet IO Controller
For Immediate Information Call
The 460ETCPS moves data between a Profinet IO Controller device and an Allen-Bradley
PLC 5E. With the 460ETCPS you are making a direct connection between Profinet IO Controller data
and user defined Tags or Registers in the data table of your PLC 5E. There is no
polling from the PLC or Ethernet/IP scan lists to arrange. This is a direct connection between
your device data and the data table of your PLC.
You allocate two areas of tags or register blocks in your PLC 5E. One area is a
user defined set of write only tags or register blocks accepting data from your Profinet IO
device. The other area is full of read only tags or register blocks to send data to your Profinet
IO device. You directly map up to 10 Profinet IO Slots of up to 1280 bytes in and out of the
data table of your PLC 5E.
Itís really that simple.
The 460ETCPS provides an option to access a Profinet IO Controller device without having to
upgrade your PLC or get an expensive in rack solution. While there are certainly a number of
other companies offering stand alone gateways, there is no one who provides the level of
support and service that you receive from RTA.
When you call, a live person answers the phone. When you talk with sales, you will get honest
answers and recommendations even if that means recommending someone else's solution.
When you get support, it is from an engineer who had a hand in the productís development,
and support doesn't require a ticket or 24 hour wait. We are unashamed of the fact that we
are a smaller company because that means you mean a lot more to us.

A Word from our Founder
“It’s likely that your business isn’t industrial networking and it shouldn’t be. You make products, design systems, or manage some process. Whatever it
is that you make, monitor or install the process inevitably creates data. If you’re a control engineer and your plant has been around for a few years your
line is probably littered with devices that send out all kinds of data over many different protocols. If you’re an automation device developer you probably
have customers that need to move your data into some other network. Either way, you’ve got a device conversion problem. You have devices that generate
ASCII , Profinet IO, Modbus TCP, BACnet, Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet TCP/IP , Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet or some other completely proprietary data
and now you’re the person that has to move that data to some other network!
I feel your pain… and rather than just my sympathy, I have a solution for you. You see, while your business may not be moving data around a factory
floor mine is. In fact, it’s all that we have done for over twenty years now. Our 460 series of Device Converters is the culmination of those twenty years.
You can now move all of your data, where you want, when you want and how you want. Try us on your next project, I guarantee you wont regret it.
