Many devices today continue to use RS232 or
RS485 serial communications. Moving data from these devices
to Programmable Controllers continues to be a challenge. Fewer
and fewer Programmable Controllers directly support serial communications.
Often, an expensive add-on card is now required to provide serial
communications. Another option is an external gateway. External
gateways come with many disadvantages including, separate power
wiring, additional connectors, space constraints and pre-defined,
awkward communications interfaces; especially for DeviceNet
interfacing.
These problems are all solved by the DeviceNet Serial Communication
PCB. Designed to support TTL and RS485 communication in a very
small form factor package, the DeviceNet Serial PCB is perfect
for OEM applications. Easily embedded within an ASCII product,
the DeviceNet Serial PCB can quickly and easily make any ASCII
product look like a DeviceNet device. And with RTA, Inc. customization
options, your product will look to all network tools and Programmable
Controllers as your proprietary DeviceNet device. |
